Our company, Lakaye Studio, introduced henna tattoos to the west coast in 1997, when we opened the first henna tattoo studio in the United States. Working with a family of Moroccan farmers, whose henna harvest we buy every year, our all-natural Earth Henna temporary tattoo kits soon followed.
Nearly 20 years later, henna tattoos are more popular than they ever were, and our kits are considered the best available on the market! They have been or are currently available at Urban Outfitters, American Eagle Outfitters, Tilly’s, Free People, many Whole Foods stores, and hundreds of art supply and craft and hobby shops around the country, as well as through our website, Etsy, Amazon.com and more.
The latest addition to our line of products is the Earth Jagua temporary tattoo kit—all-natural, black temporary tattoos from the Amazon that look like the real thing, only they fade away after two weeks! We work directly with the Matsés people in the Peruvian Amazon. They harvest the fruit and ship us the juice that we use to make our product. No trees are cut down; fruit that would fall to the ground and rot is now a cash crop for the Matsés. We follow fair trade practices, and also provide funds to the group for malaria assistance each year.
